Coaching youth sports, cheering for the Texas Longhorns or manning the grill at a cookout. During the off-season he also enjoys a good book.
Words of Wisdom:
We all have our strengths and limitations, and it is very important to maintain a self-awareness about your limitations. A lack of self-awareness can create a delusional sense of confidence. A series of experiments, conducted in 1999 by David Dunning and Justin Kruger of Cornell University, found that experts are typically less confident in the decisions related to their expertise than those with little or no experience. This was dubbed the Dunning-Kruger Effect. In other words, it’s dangerous to think of yourself as an expert when you are not.
